Regulatory Health Services
The provision of Health Surveillance is a legal requirement, if we have identified specific work activities that require this, the necessary periodic surveillance can be performed in your premises, which will minimise the disruption and loss of production time for employees.
We can ensure that you are fully compliant with any existing or proposed legislation and best practice, thereby minimising any litigation risk.
I'm often asked the question "So, what is Health Surveillance?" Let me explain.
Health Surveillance is often a mandatory requirement depending on your industry, with clearly defined standards involving a range of clinical testing and methods to specifically detect and assess the early signs of adverse effects on the health and wellbeing of workers who are exposed to certain hazards that may be hazardous to their health through the course of carrying out their expected duties.
Health Surveillance is also a process whereby employees and prospective employees are assessed (Pre-employment and ongoing health assessment) to evaluate and ascertain their fitness to work or continue working, as these are your most important, and probably expensive asset, and play a vital role in the success of your business.
It will assist in your overall assessment of whether they can perform the tasks and job requirements, safely, without endangering themselves or others and to assist in identifying, if there are developing health issues that by early intervention would help to reduce the risk of prolonged sickness absence, which can be a costly expense and will impact on your business, and also to help you fulfil your legal requirements under the Equality Act 2010

Sickness absence
In 2010 the Fit Note replaced the Sick Note and changed the way employee sickness is dealt with in the workplace. We can work with you and your HR manager (if you have one) also the employees own Doctor, to ensure you are getting the best strategic use out of them for everyone’s advantage. By helping you fully understand what these ‘fit notes’ mean and using them as intended to get people back to work in sensible time frames, including advise on rehabilitation programmes to assist with the minimum amount of lost time, and loss of revenue, to the benefit of both you the employer and the employee.
With experienced advice and a possible assessment from an Occupational health Adviser such as we provide, which is completely independent, negating the issue or concern regarding victimisation and discrimination. We can also assist you with any additional concerns you may have on repeated / persistent short term or long term sickness through our referral system.
Further advice on this is very important, invaluable service and advice is available upon request.
